The cottage "La Dame Jeanne" ("The Lady Jeanne"), originally, was a horse’s relay used to transport paving stones, from the forest to the port of Valvins, where they were embarked for Paris port. Part of the building was erected around 1650.
Fully restored, the walls of stone and dirt have retained their cachet.
